I got to meet people who love to travel just like I do, and worked with teachers who wanted the best for us and helped me succeed. Travelling around the world and learning at the same time changed me and really pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and become independent, while also creating friendships that I cherish.

Courses Offered

Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals
GRADE CODE
12 BOH4U

The business leadership course allows students to explore how managers function in organizations and take on the challenges of generating solutions to solve complex problems. This course allows students to explore the roles, responsibilities, skills, and functions of management, while investigating the factors that encourage effective leadership practices. Emphasis throughout the course is placed on the importance of ethics and social responsibility in the corporate world. Additionally, students learn how to communicate effectively for business purposes, preparing them to lead effectively in positions of employment and management.

HOW IT WORKS

Each morning students join our instructors for a healthy breakfast and a directed golf lesson. Students then receive their focused business reading and daily business case-study or activity: these packages consist of real-world scenarios that provide insight into important areas of business leadership. Students discuss the day’s assignment in foursomes as they complete a round of golf—using their on-course time to brainstorm and develop solutions. After their round on the course, students meet for lunch with their business teacher who further advises students on their day’s assignment. On select afternoons, guest business leaders will speak to their area of expertise and guide students with feedback on group presentations. Students spend afternoons sharing activities and exploring each location, while evenings are utilized for presentations, competitions, and golf workshops. Golf tournaments, special events, and business competitions deliver REAL life business experiences.

Preparation and Coursework

Preparation and Coursework

In order to ease into the program, students have access to the course website where reading lists are posted. Course preparation is completed over four weeks. The first two-week session begins in early May, and focuses on novel studies. The second session begins in late June, and focuses on small assignments. These online sessions are designed to connect students with their teachers and classmates, and to help lessen the workload during the summer. Students are required to complete all prep work prior to departure to ensure they are ready to hit the ground running overseas.
Toronto

Toronto

Day 1–5

We begin our program on some of the premier clubs in the GTA, including ClubLink courses Glen Cairn, Bond Head, and Rattle Snake. Here, we start our morning routine as we combine golf lessons that focus on improving technique with business readings that focus on investment research. Our business course themes rotate throughout the week to establish a basic knowledge of real estate, business development and effective leadership principles. Our days consist of a healthy balance between golf, business activities, and free time to enjoy each location. Our final day in the city culminates in a Dragon’s Den style competition followed by an epic dinner with presentations.
Muskoka

Muskoka

Days 5–12

The next leg of our trip takes us to Muskoka, the scenic wonderland of the near-north. This area is sprinkled with picturesque villages and lakeside resorts ringed by golf courses, country clubs, and marinas. Right in the heart of Ontario’s cottage country, ClubLink courses like Rocky Crest and The Lake Joseph Club have become legendary not only for their immense beauty, but for their top-rated facilities. Our daily leadership activities will delve into the biographies of business gurus so that students can learn and be inspired by their insights. Guest speakers continue to address the students, revealing the challenges that they encountered as they pursued their dreams in the business world. After golf tournaments and business competitions, students rejuvenate during free afternoons enjoying some of the best summer activities in the region.
Mont-Tremblant

Mont-Tremblant

Days 12–16

From Muskoka, we travel out of province to Mont-Trem- blant in Quebec, where students have the opportunity to play Le Val de Lac and Le Maître de Mont, two world-class facilities of exceptional beauty. Academically, we focus on learning key concepts behind diversification and asset allocation, and develop an all-season investment portfolio. On our final day in Mont-Tremblant, we participate in one more golf tournament that incorporates leadership skills, business acumen, and golf scores.
Montreal

Montreal

Days 16–21

Long considered a cultural hub of North America, Montreal offers students the opportunity to see a side of Canada that is rich in music, the arts, fashion, and great literature, while still offering breathtaking scenery and unique cuisine. Students balance their time on the course with discovering historic neighbourhoods like the Mile-End, the Plateau, and the Old Port. We conclude our program with a final tournament at one of the top golf courses in Montreal where students pull together the skills they have learned from their business studies, competitions, guest lectures, and personal experiences. Our closing banquet and awards night makes our final evening in Montreal truly memorable.
